As these devices are not permanently installed, they have the advantage of being flexible and ready for immediate use. Instead of an outdoor unit, there is an exhaust air hose that is laid outside through an open window, for example, or connected to a wall duct.
Comparison with stationary systems
Compared to a split air conditioning system, these devices are significantly louder. As the units are located in a housing together with the heat exchanger, it is essential that the heat generated is dissipated to the outside via an air hose. In addition, mobile air conditioners require more electrical energy and are less efficient than stationary air conditioners. However, as they are cheaper to purchase than split air conditioning systems, they are a good temporary alternative and a first aid measure in hot weather.
